New Delhi, Dec 9 (Prensa Latina) UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon will travel to India next January to participate in an international conference aimed at promoting investment in the state of Gujarat. Ban Ki-moon will take part in the 'Vibrant Gujarat Summit-2015', Finance minister and Gujarat Government Spokesperson Saurabh Patel said on Monday.
The Secretary-General will arrive in Gandhinagar next January 10th and will attend the forum inauguration on the 11th, he added.
Gujarat is Indiaâ�Ös second most industrializes state and one of the areas of greatest economic growth in the country. It is also the hometown of national independence leaders Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Patel.
A record number of foreign leaders, international organization representatives, minister and high-level businessmen are expected to attend the Summit in order to attract foreign investment for the state.
According to organizers, the inauguration will be led by President Modi.
