Konecranes Jejuri Marathon sees huge participation


Pune: Konecranes Jejuri Marathon (Edition 2) was held on 4th March 2018 on occasion of National Safety Week.The marathon organised by Run Buddies, a group of professionals organising marathons across the country saw close to 350 people participating. This year the run was in 3Km, 5 Km, 10 Km, 15 Km & 21Km (Half Marathon) categories.

The first 3 men and first 3 women in 5Km, 10Km, 15Km & 21Km (Half Marathon) in age groups of below 40 and above 40 years were awarded the Konecranes Jejuri Marathon Trophy.

In the age group above 40 years (women), the winners were Nishanie Kamble (15kms), Preetha (5kms).

In the age group under 40 years (women), the winners were Deepali (15kms), Payal Talmale (10kms), Palak Patil (5Kms)

In the age group over 40 years (men), the winners were Milind Deodhar (21 kms), Dinesh Deshkar (15kms), Nilesh Tarawade (10kms), Ajay Lokhande (5kms).

In the age group under 40 years (men), the winners were Raju Dange (21 kms), Ravindra More (15kms), Jyotriram Kaluge (10kms), Swapnil Shinde (5kms).

All participants received a finisher's medal and T shirt.

The marathon was flagged off by PI D S Hake from Jejuri Police, Mr. Ravin Wadhawan , Senior Director, Mr. Amit Deshpande, Director Operations and Mrs. Lina Wadekar, Director Finance, Konecranes Pvt. Ltd. A warm-up session of Zumba exercises has been organised for all participants before the flag off.

Funds generated from Konecranes Jejuri Marathon were donated to "Mamata Bal Sadan" Saswad, founded by Sou. Sindhutai Sapkal (Mai) affectionately known as the "Mother of Orphans" whose mission is to bring up orphans, destitute, distressed women and children. They support rehabilitation and provide these women and children with basic necessities.
