Mumbai: Wipro, the country's software services exporter, on Friday reported a net profit of Rs. 2,510 crore for the October-December period, beating analyst estimates and helped by higher revenue from its IT services. That marked an increase of nearly 33 per cent from the net profit of Rs. 1,889 crore registered in the previous quarter, and nearly 30 per cent from that of Rs. 1,931 in the quarter ended December 31, 2017.
Shares in Wipro closed 2.91 per cent higher at Rs. 346.20 apiece on the BSE, ahead of the earnings announcement by the company.
